The project starts off with mapping out the problem to get an overview off the problem and identified detailed subproblems.
The effects, trunk problem and root causes are identified. This tool made it easy to star being creative and coming up with ideas of solutions.
The 6 pin star were made to start the need finding and gaining deeper insight with the problem. This generated more details of the ideas.
Mapping out what systems and stakeholders the future solution could effect were made and also in what context the problem accurse. With this tool the ideas were slightly changed to make value to the user and also to work for all involved stakeholders and systems.
With this tool different "how might we" cases were created to start thinking of how we could solve the problem stated.
From the problem and the HMWs different design ideas were generated and valuated.
We also involved biomimicry to see if there exists solution in nature that can help us solve our problem.
From the tools a clear problem were stated. The roots of the problem were found at MSB webpage and can be seen at the picture to the right. We selected the grilling to be a solvable problem and also something that is a big problem.
A few existing solutions were tested and evaluated to give ideas. A first solution were also tested. A fine mesh grill grate were tested to se if sparks from the fire could be kept inside the grill to make the BBQing safer.
The tool six thinking hats were used to evaluate an select the most promising solution.
A business model were also created and a PSS system were made to create a more sustainable solution.
A prototype planning circle were made to develop a prototype in a effective and value driven way.
Crowdsourcing were made to get input from the other students.
Two versions of a physical prototype were made to se how the solution would feel and work.
