BASH GUARD FOR MTB

FIRST VERSION
In the first version the outside shape of the bash guard were tested. The bash guard were printed in a 3d printer. It were printed and constructed totally solid. It were then tested on a bike for about one month and it turn out to withstand everything without breaking. Therefore the next version will have less material.
VERSION 2
The next version cepd the outside shape but reconstructed the inside to have a nicer design and less material to be cheaper and have less weight on the bike. Version two were tested and it worked great. The bash guard can take some hits from rocks and logs but will however break on a big impacts but the bash guard will still save the chain and sprocket from breaking. This is consider to be good consider it's doing its work and the production price is super low.

MATERIALS
5 different plastics were tested for the product. PLA, PETG, ASA, ABS and Nylon/Carbon. This were made to se which material could take the most impact without breaking. The price of the material will also play a role for the results.
RESULTS FROMMATERIAL TESTING
The parts of different materials were squezeed with a hydraulic press to we how mouch they could stand before breaking. ASA and ABS were almost the same and broke totally very fast and were considered to not withstand a resneble amount of force. The PETG broke in to a thousand pices and were considered unsafe to use. The nylon/carbon did not break and were consider as the best material for the purpose. The PLA did break after quite a lot of force and were considered ok.

FINAL RESULT
The bash guard will be made in two versions. One cheap version that is made of PLA. This is a organic material that could be degradable in the woods if left there. The second version is made of nylon with 25% carbon inside with make it a lot lighter and can also take a lot more force. This version is five times more costly and is not organic.
